How Benjamin and Shmuel Fit Together
Both Benjamin and Shmuel immediately settled in different parts of America after their migration. Benjamin and the Korach family settled in Cleveland, Ohio and Shmuel and the Goldstein family settled in Atlanta, Georgia (where a large amount of Shmuel’s descendants still remain). It wasn’t until 1966, however, when the Korach family and the Goldstein family became linked through the marriage of Sue Ellen Wolf (Goldstein) to Jeffrey Korach. Sue Ellen was the great-granddaughter of Shmuel Yankel Goldstein while Jeffrey Korach was the grandson of Benjamin William Korach. You might be asking; how does an Ohioan meet a Georgian? Sue Ellen’s mother, Ida Wolf wondered the same thing. Jeffrey and Sue Ellen met at Tulane University but according to Sue Ellen, Ida never understood what “he was doin’ down here!”. Jeffrey and Sue Ellen would go on to have two children. Randy Korach, who became the father to Quinn and Natalie, and Kara Korach Pacala, who became the mother to Sam and Laura.
